Charities & Fundraising

Thailand is a beautiful country - though there is a great deal of inequality when it comes to the distribution of wealth.

During my time at Wall Street English, I took part in a number of charitable initiatives with the goal of helping those who are less fortunate than myself.

Baan Hin so School

A primary school in rural province of Loei, in northern Thailand.

The students here faced a number of adversities. No chairs or desks, limited school supplies, as well as a lack of access to technology.

The fundraising effort provided the school with educational materials, and allowed them to build additional classrooms. During my visit I taught the students English, played games, and also got the chance to play badminton with them.

It’s a wonderful memory.

All funds raised went to HDF Mercy Centre - a shelter for street kids, == from the slums of Bangkok. The centre includes five orphanages, a 300-pupil kindergarten, a community meeting place, as well as small gardens and playgrounds.
